The Daily Food Allowance for the Very Low Calorie Diet Phase (VLCD phase)

I  think the most important thing about the hCG diet is portion control.
Invest in a kitchen scale it will make or break your success if are careful about you portions.

Also, I have read many different opinions on restricting the variety of proteins and vegetables. I have decided to see what works for me. I am a firm believer in “variety is the spice of life”. I need to have a combination of veggies to keep it interesting and tasty which in turn  will keep me motivated to stay on track. If  I stop seeing results I will stay with one type of vegetable. But so far so good.

Go to the food list to get a complete list of food allowed on the VLCD.

A list of what is allowed in a day:

Protein

• 2 servings of meat a day
• Do not combine the servings.
• Do not have the same meat the same day or 2 days in a row.
• Each serving is 100 grams or 3.5 oz.
• Occasionally eggs
• 1 whole egg and 3 whites poached, boiled or even scrambled
• Or 100 grams of skimmed milk cottage cheese

Vegetables

• Do not mix or combined vegetables.
Note, some people do not find this effects results negatively, do what works for you.
• 2 servings a day
• Dr. Simeons doesn’t give an amount of hCG approved vegetables. The popular consensus is 2 cups per meal before cooking.

• Do not combine the servings.
• Do not have same fruit the same day or 2 days in a row.

• Do not combine the servings.

Break down of what can be eaten at every meal:

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

Lunch

1.    100 grams of  protein.

2.    One type of vegetable- about 2 cups

3.    One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

4.   One serving of fruit
note: I like to have my fruit at breakfast

1.    100 grams of  protein.
